Allison Durham Speer - U.S.A.
|
Allison Durham Speer was raised in the Bluegrass fields of Kentucky and her early childhood was spent enjoying spring vegetable gardens and sun drying autumn apples; tending cattle and crops, and developing a deep respect for God's creation gave her a down-home sense of self.
When she married her husband, Brian, she added the name ‘Speer’ to her birth name and joined a dynasty of Gospel music. However, when she sings, she is ministering with the unique voice that God gave to her.
Her travels to Russia and Bosnia with Christian relief organization International Aid, and The Philippines with the American Leprosy Mission, have left her changed and moved to a deeper communion with God and with a resolve to banish complacency.
Allison says, "We must lose our egos and find our complete identity in the person of Jesus. It is in the shedding of His blood that we find our lives and in His suffering and death alone, that we must boast."
This will be Allison's second visit to the GMC.

Rejoice Gospel Quartet - Sweden
|
 |
Rejoice is a Swedish quartet put together by siblings Helena, Evelina and Henrik Balke, and their good friend Peppe Huss. All members are originally born and raised in a small village just north of Orebro in the middle of Sweden.
They started to sing together in a gospel choir in the 90’s, and when the choir retired in 2001 the four decided to keep singing together and formed a quartet. Influenced by Bill Gaither’s Homecoming videos they quickly added southern gospel to the repertoire, and although they have never called themselves a southern gospel quartet, that’s the music that they enjoy singing the most.
The group gives between 6-8 concerts a year, and for the last few years they’ve been doing concerts together with homecoming artists like Ann Downing, Stephen Hill, Woody Wright and Jessy Dixon.
Helena lives in Stockholm together with her husband and daughter. She works with train logistics. Evelina and Henrik lives in Gothenburg, and both of them are teachers, Evelina is a music teacher and Henrik teaches physics and mathematics. Peppe still lives in the small village where they all come from and works as a financial manager. He is also a two time student of the Stamps-Baxter School of Music in Nashville, TN, a school run by gospel legend Ben Speer.
Some of the members have been singing abroad before, but GMC Scotland 2011 will be their first international event together.

Mercys Well - U.S.A.
|
Originally organized in 1998 as a duet, Mercy's Well, under the leadership of group founder, Brad Strider, soon made the natural transition to a trio. The group's first three single releases paved the way for their first Top 80 single in 2005. Throughout the past two years, the group, which is based in Greensboro, NC, has continued to produce charting singles and has gained national attention from fans, music critics, pastors and promoters alike.
The group's most recent recording, SKYWRITING, promises even greater success, as it excels with creative excellence, a testament to the recordings production team and producer Donna Beauvais (Hope's Call), as well as Mercy's Well members Strider, Greg Gainer and Jon Azzarello. SKYWRITING is filled with moving messages, first-class production and rich vocal harmonies. The recording, like each performance by Mercy's Well, is a testament to the versatility of this talented trio, as it encompasses a variety of musical genres, without compromising the Gospel message.

Tim's testimony has reached many lost church members and even Christians that are not serving God as they should.
